Monero (XMR) on Binance, Coinbase and Kraken

Binance, Coinbase and Kraken are where many people hold crypto, but only one of them lists Monero, and not everywhere. Here is each exchange's XMR status, checked against its own market data and announcements, and how to get XMR from a balance you already have there.

Quick answer

  • Binance: no XMR spot trading since 20 February 2024, and XMR withdrawals ended on 20 May 2024. Binance Futures still lists an XMRUSDT contract, which is settled in USDT and never gives you XMR.
  • Coinbase: no XMR. It is not in any of Coinbase's public lists of supported crypto and markets, including Coinbase Advanced and Coinbase International Exchange.
  • Kraken: yes. XMR trades against USD, EUR, BTC, USDT and USDC, with a verified account. Kraken says XMR is not available to clients in the EEA, the UK, Australia, Canada or India.
  • Hold BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC or SOL on any of them? Withdraw it to a SilentXMR swap and receive XMR at your own wallet, at Kraken's price minus 0.5%, with no account.

Does Binance have Monero?

Not for buying or holding. Binance announced on 6 February 2024 that it would stop all XMR trading pairs on 20 February 2024 at 03:00 UTC. The pairs removed were XMR/BTC, XMR/ETH, XMR/BNB and XMR/USDT. XMR deposits after 21 February 2024 were not credited, and XMR withdrawals from Binance ended on 20 May 2024.

Binance's market data still shows those XMR spot markets, but none of them is trading. If you see an XMR price on Binance today, it is most likely the XMRUSDT perpetual on Binance Futures, which was trading on 18 October 2026. A perpetual is a contract on the price, settled in USDT: you cannot deposit XMR into it or withdraw XMR from it.

Binance.US, a separate exchange, had no XMR markets among its 629 markets on the same day.

Does Coinbase have Monero?

No. On 18 October 2026, XMR was not in any of Coinbase's public lists: the 413 crypto assets in its main list, the 925 markets on Coinbase Advanced, the 511 currencies on Coinbase Exchange or the 310 instruments on Coinbase International Exchange. So you cannot buy, receive or send XMR with a Coinbase account.

Coinbase does list BTC, ETH, LTC, SOL, USDC and USDT, and every one of them can be swapped to XMR here.

Is Monero on Kraken?

Yes. On 18 October 2026, Kraken had five live XMR markets: XMR/USD, XMR/EUR, XMR/BTC, XMR/USDT and XMR/USDC. Like any Kraken trading, it needs an account, and Kraken says you can buy and sell crypto once your account is verified.

XMR is not offered everywhere Kraken operates. Kraken's support pages list these exceptions:

How to turn an exchange balance into XMR

This works with a balance on Binance, Coinbase, Kraken or any exchange that lets you withdraw BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC or SOL.

  1. Get a Monero wallet. Install a wallet such as Feather, Cake Wallet or the Monero GUI wallet, and write down the seed phrase. Copy your receive address: it starts with 4 or 8. See Monero wallets compared.
  2. Pick a coin your exchange holds. BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC or SOL. If your balance is in something else, convert it on the exchange first.
  3. Create a swap. Choose that coin and its network in the swap card, paste your Monero address and create the order. You see the exact amount of XMR you will get, locked for 30 minutes from that moment.
  4. Withdraw to the deposit address on your order, on the same network. Some exchanges take their withdrawal fee out of the amount you enter, so check that the amount that arrives matches your order. Keep your order ID.
  5. Receive XMR. Once your deposit confirms, the XMR is sent to your address by hand, and the payout transaction appears on your order page.

Other big exchanges

OKX delisted its XMR spot pairs in January 2024. On 18 October 2026, KuCoin, Bitfinex, HTX, MEXC, WhiteBIT and NonKYC had live XMR markets, each with its own account and verification rules. The full table, and peer-to-peer options, are in where to buy Monero.

Questions

Can I buy Monero on Binance?

No. Binance ended XMR spot trading on 20 February 2024, and none of its XMR spot markets was trading on 18 October 2026.

Can I still withdraw XMR from Binance?

No. Binance said XMR withdrawals would not be supported after 20 May 2024.

What is the XMRUSDT contract on Binance?

It is a perpetual futures contract on Binance Futures that tracks the XMR price and is settled in USDT. Trading it never gives you XMR in a wallet.

Can I buy XMR on Coinbase?

No. XMR is not in Coinbase's supported crypto, on Coinbase Advanced or on Coinbase International Exchange (checked 18 October 2026).

Is Monero available on Kraken?

Yes, against USD, EUR, BTC, USDT and USDC, with a verified account. Kraken says it is not available to clients in the EEA, the UK, Australia, Canada or India.

Can I send coins from an exchange straight to a SilentXMR swap?
