What ChangeHero is
ChangeHero says it aggregates rates from more than 10 centralized and decentralized exchanges and needs no account. Its terms name Herofintechs Ltd. as the operator, and its company page says it was incorporated in Costa Rica. Its own pages give different coin counts (250+, 300+ and 350+); its quote API listed 316 coin and network options on 18 October 2026, with XMR in both directions.
Its FAQ says fees are no more than 0.5% on Best Rate (floating) and up to 0.7% on a fixed rate, plus the network fee. The FAQ says a fixed rate is locked for 15 minutes from creating the transaction, while its terms allow a refund when assets are sent more than 10 minutes after confirming a fixed-rate exchange, and let it refuse a fixed-rate swap if the rate moves more than 2%. On 18 October 2026 its API offered fixed rates from XMR to other coins, but none into XMR. A floating-rate amount is set when the transaction is processed.
On ID checks, its AML/KYC policy describes a risk-scoring system: a flagged transaction is put on hold and the user is asked to pass AML and KYC verification. The policy lists the use of privacy-focused cryptocurrencies and Tor among signs of higher risk. Its terms say that if you decline a requested check, the deposit is returned minus the network fee and an operational fee of 10%, at least $100. Card and bank purchases go through its partners Mercuryo and FinchPay.
