How we check facts for our Monero (XMR) guides and comparisons

Primary sources only

• Facts about another service come from that service's own website, terms, help pages, announcements or public API. We don't use review sites or other comparison sites as sources.
• Exchange listings are checked through each exchange's public market data where it has one. When a page blocks automated reading, we read it in a normal browser. When a service has closed, we use its own notice and copies saved by the Internet Archive.
• Every guide and comparison lists the pages it used under "Sources", with links, so you can check each fact yourself.

Every fact is dated

Services change their fees, coins and rules. Each guide and comparison shows the date we checked it. We re-check pages every few months and update the date when we do. Prices are never written into the text: price pages fill them in from Kraken's public data when you load the page, with the time shown.

Our conflict of interest

SilentXMR competes with most of the services it compares. So comparisons stick to facts those services publish themselves, include the cases where the other service may suit you better, and quote no reviews or ratings. No service has paid to be listed, ranked or left out, and we take no affiliate fees.

Comparisons describe how each service works. They do not cover news about other services, such as incidents or legal cases.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong or out of date, email service@silentxmr.com with the page and, if you can, a link to the source. We check it against the primary source, correct the page if needed and update its date.

Who writes the pages

The pages are written and checked by SilentXMR Ltd., which operates this site. Translations are made from the English pages; if a translation differs from the English page, the English page and its sources apply.
