Monero (XMR) block explorer: look up a transaction
A Monero explorer shows blocks and transactions, but not who paid whom or how much: Monero hides those on its blockchain. Here are the explorers that worked when we checked, what you can see on them, and how to check that a payment arrived.
Quick answer
- Explorers that worked on 18 October 2026: xmrchain.net, Blockchair, ExploreMonero and the MoneroHash explorer.
- You can see: the block, confirmations, time, fee and size of a transaction.
- You cannot see: sender, receiver or amount. To confirm a payment you need the transaction key or the view key.
- Waiting for a SilentXMR payout? Your order page shows the payout transaction ID; paste it into an explorer to watch the confirmations.

- Send the exact amount above from your wallet.
- We check the deposit wallet, and once your deposit confirms we send the amount quoted above to your address, even if the price has moved since. The quote holds for deposits sent within 30 minutes; a deposit sent later gets the market rate when it is processed.
- This page updates by itself. Keep your order ID to check later on the Track order page.

Monero explorers that work today
We loaded each explorer on 18 October 2026 and compared its latest block with the network (block 3,787,220).
| Explorer | Up to date | Details |
|---|---|---|
| xmrchain.net | Yes | Open-source explorer with no JavaScript, cookies or trackers, per its header. Search by block or transaction, mempool view, decode outputs and prove sending. Feather's docs point to it. |
| Blockchair | Yes | Multi-coin explorer with a Monero section and an API. Transaction pages have a "Prove transaction" form. |
| ExploreMonero | Yes | Mobile-friendly explorer that loads data from public nodes; good for browsing blocks and the transaction queue. |
| MoneroHash explorer | Yes | Run by the MoneroHash mining pool on the same open-source explorer as xmrchain.net. |
Explorers come and go. If one is behind the latest block, its data is out of date: try another.
What an explorer shows for a Monero transaction
getmonero.org says people watching the blockchain don't learn the sender address, the amount or the recipient address. So a Monero transaction page looks different from Bitcoin's:
- Visible: transaction ID, block and time, number of confirmations, fee, size, and the inputs, each signed with 16 ring members (your real one plus 15 decoys).
- Hidden: amounts (shown as "?"), the sender, and the recipient: each output goes to a one-time stealth address, not to the recipient's real address.
A new block comes about every 2 minutes. Received XMR can be spent after 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes.
Checking that a payment arrived
Because amounts and addresses are hidden, you need a key to check a payment:
- As the sender, with the transaction key: getmonero.org's guide uses the transaction ID, the recipient's address and the transaction key. In the Monero GUI, the key is on the History page; in the CLI, use get_tx_key. On xmrchain.net, open the transaction and use "Prove sending" with the key and the recipient address.
- As the receiver, with the view key: xmrchain.net's "Decode outputs" takes your address and private view key and shows which outputs are yours, with amounts.
- Best option: check in your own wallet. xmrchain.net notes that the address and key are sent to its server. Moneropedia says a view key lets someone see every incoming transaction for that address. The GUI's Prove/Check tab, or check_tx_key in the CLI, does the same check without giving a key to a website.
Following your SilentXMR swap on an explorer
- Create your swap and send the deposit. Your order page shows your order status.
- When the payout is sent, its transaction ID appears on your order page.
- Paste the ID into an explorer to see its block and confirmations. Your wallet shows the amount, and it becomes spendable after 10 confirmations.
Swap to XMR and follow it on-chain.
- Kraken's live price minus 0.5%. You see exactly what you get before you send.
- Your rate is locked for 30 minutes from the moment you create the order. Send in time and the amount is yours.
- BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC or SOL in, XMR out to your address. Or the other way round.
Running your own explorer
The explorer behind xmrchain.net is open source (Onion Monero Blockchain Explorer, BSD-3-Clause, updated in September 2026). It needs your own Monero node with the full blockchain, and can also run in Docker. With your own explorer and node, nobody else sees what you look up.
Get Monero in your own wallet. No account, no ID.
Questions
What is the best Monero explorer?
On 18 October 2026, xmrchain.net was up to date and had both payment checks (decode outputs and prove sending). Blockchair, ExploreMonero and the MoneroHash explorer were also up to date.
Why can't I see the amount on a Monero explorer?
Monero hides amounts with RingCT and recipients with one-time stealth addresses, so explorers show "?" for amounts. Use the transaction key or view key to check a payment.
How do I prove I sent Monero?
Give the recipient the transaction ID, their address and the transaction key. They can check it in their own wallet (check_tx_key or the Prove/Check tab) or on an explorer's "Prove sending" form.
How many confirmations does Monero need?
Received XMR can be spent after 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes, since a block comes about every 2 minutes.
Is it safe to enter my view key on an explorer?
It cannot spend your funds, but it lets the explorer see all incoming transactions to that address, and xmrchain.net says the key is sent to its server. Checking in your own wallet avoids that.
Where do I find my SilentXMR payout transaction?
On your order page, once the payout is sent. Paste that ID into any Monero explorer. Questions go to service@silentxmr.com.
