Comparisons
Trocador alternative: swapping Monero (XMR) directly
Trocador compares quotes from partner exchanges; SilentXMR is a single Monero swap service. KYC ratings, fees, rate locks and custody compared, checked at the source.
LocalMonero alternative: getting Monero (XMR) after the shutdown
LocalMonero closed in 2024: new trades stopped on 14 May 2024. What it was, the dates from its own announcement, and the ways to get XMR now: P2P (Haveno) or a crypto swap.
SideShift and Monero (XMR): not supported, and an alternative
SideShift.ai doesn't list Monero (XMR): its public coin list had no XMR on 18 October 2026. How SideShift works, and how to swap BTC, ETH, USDT or SOL to XMR instead.
ChangeNOW alternative for swapping Monero (XMR)
Comparing ChangeNOW and SilentXMR for XMR swaps: KYC rules, fees, fixed-rate windows, minimums and coins, taken from ChangeNOW's own terms and dated.
FixedFloat alternative for swapping Monero (XMR)
FixedFloat (ff.io) and SilentXMR compared for XMR swaps: 1% fixed or 0.5% float fees, the 10-minute rate freeze, ID-check wording and limits, from FixedFloat's own pages.

Haveno and RetoSwap vs a Monero (XMR) swap service
Haveno (and the RetoSwap network) is P2P Monero trading with multisig escrow and fiat methods. How it compares with a crypto-to-XMR swap on fees, deposits, time and KYC.
How to choose
Start with what you hold. If it is money in a bank account, you need an exchange that lists XMR where you live, or a peer-to-peer network such as Haveno. Swap services like SilentXMR only take crypto.
If you already hold crypto, a swap service is the shortest route: no account, one deposit, and XMR sent to your address. Aggregators such as Trocador compare quotes from many swap services. That can find a better rate, but your swap then runs through the partner you pick, under that partner's rules.
Then check the details that matter to you: whether the service may pause a swap for ID checks, whether the rate is fixed or floating, the minimum, and who holds your coins during the swap.
What SilentXMR does
- Only Monero: every swap starts or ends in XMR.
- Kraken's last price minus 0.5%, locked when you create the order, with no expiry.
- No account, and no name, email address or ID requested.
- $50 minimum. Above $50,000, contact support first.
- Deposits are checked and payouts sent by hand, so a swap is not instant. You can follow it with your order ID.
Questions
What is the best LocalMonero alternative?
It depends on how you pay. LocalMonero was a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying XMR with fiat, so the closest replacement is a peer-to-peer network built on Haveno, such as RetoSwap. If you hold crypto already, a swap service like SilentXMR turns it into XMR without a counterparty.
Do swap services require KYC?
Their policies differ, and each comparison quotes the service's own wording. ChangeNOW's terms make KYC mandatory for residents of some countries and allow checks elsewhere; SimpleSwap says it may require KYC on any transaction; Trocador rates its partners from A (no KYC) to D. SilentXMR does not ask for a name, email address or ID.
Which services still support Monero?
Of the services compared here, Trocador, ChangeNOW, FixedFloat and SimpleSwap list XMR, and Haveno networks trade it peer to peer. SideShift does not list XMR, and LocalMonero has closed. Every SilentXMR pair starts or ends in XMR.
Why are these pages dated?
Services change their coins, fees and rules. Each comparison shows the date we checked the other service's own pages and lists those pages as sources, so you can check them again.
